The characterizations and plot-lines are misogynistic - women are rarely portrayed as intelligent or as prime movers. They're mainly there as set decor and to 'support' the male characters. It's time to come up with something a little more representative of how things really were in the 1950's - not all women were housewives or nurses, some of them, like my mother, drove delivery vans, or worked at fish-packing plants, or even, imagine, as managers! Also, I'm not surprised that the leading actor was accused of sexual harassment, with a production dominated by older white men, what else would one expect???
