I did not like the storyline, period. There is no depth in the characters. Sushmita Senโs character, Aarya, either doesnโt know anything about her family business or is simply ignorant. When her husband died, she suddenly became awareโbut even that awareness wasnโt portrayed as shocking. She always kept a calm, picture-perfect face, which felt unrealistic and staged rather than genuine.
Even if she knew their family business was illegal, then her so-called kindness towards the poor was nothing but a maskโbecause their company was supplying fake medicines! The show never clarified this contradiction.
The whole family drama is ridiculous. Her father is sleeping with another woman in the same house, and literally no one cares! Everything is treated as โnormal,โ and the only issue highlighted is the motherโs jealousy. That jealousy was also exaggeratedโwhen her own daughter died, she seemed more interested in showing off to her husband than in grieving.
There are shows that portray this kind of behavior under dark humor or satire, but here itโs presented as if this is just how a rich family normally behaves.
Honestly, this show feels more suitable for school kids. Iโm not going to waste my energy on Season 2 or 3, lol.
