My apologies to the fans of this movie, but I found it incredibly hard to watch. At 60 years old, I am hardly the target audience. But my nine year old is. He liked it despite my arguments to the contrary 😂. But l, having a nine year old, I am a forced participant in many movies I wouldn’t watch by my own volition. This was the worst in recent memory. The jokes were cringy, and it seemed as if Jason Sudekis needed to be constantly reminded of his salary to continue speaking the lame dialogue. The whole Rocket Rooster character was so arbitrary and seemed forced into the script. And that was the problem with most of the characters: non-essential and ill-conceived. And the elephant was really poorly developed. Not a word out of her until about 15 minutes in. Before that we’re left to spend time with a wholly unlikeable and unwatchable circus guy…with repetitive action that was dull and yawny. The message too was off - I’m a big animal rights guy but the message was off. It felt insincere and forced. The plot, as a whole, sucked too. It felt like they made crap up as they went along. Okay, enough from a bitter old man. Hopefully your kids will like it…even if they shouldn’t. 😂
