I have seen the movie Tombaad and my review :
From the moment Tumbbad begins, it grips you with its eerie atmosphere. The constant rain, the decaying mansions, and the whispers of an ancient curse immediately set the tone for something sinister yet beautiful. Unlike typical horror films that rely on jump scares, this one unsettles you with its mythology, making the horror feel timeless.
Sohum Shah as Vinayak Rao is fantasticโhis greed feels so real that you almost root for him despite knowing he's doomed. The cinematography is breathtaking, with every shot resembling a painting drenched in shadows and gold. Jesper Kydโs haunting score lingers, adding an extra layer of unease.
If I had to nitpick, Iโd say the filmโs pacing is a slow burn, which might not work for everyone. But for me, it adds to the dreadโyou donโt just watch Tumbbad, you sink into it.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Itโs not just a horror film; itโs an experience.
โญ 4.5/5 โ A chilling tale of greed, beautifully told.
