I enjoyed learning all about Robert Smalls. I moved to Beaufort 10 years ago and knew about him from a carriage tour but this book provided the details I was missing. He was an exceptional man and I'm glad Rebecca Bruff was compelled to write this book. We need more of these types of books to be written today.
