As a huge fan of Tenali Rama, I was eagerly waiting for Season 2, especially after the sheer brilliance of Season 1. The first season was a perfect blend of comedy, intelligence, and memorable characters. It stood out for its witty writing and the classic Tom-and-Jerry-like banter between Rama and Guruwar, which made it truly special.
However, Season 2 has taken a very different turn โ and not necessarily for the better. It feels more like a rehash of Sherlock Holmes, with each episode focusing on a new mystery or case to solve. While that may sound exciting on paper, it strips away the essence that made Tenali Rama such a delightful watch in the first place.
The biggest disappointment is the absence of most of the beloved comedy characters who added so much flavor to the story. Without them, the show feels dry and overly serious. The humor, once the soul of the series, is now barely present.
Unless the showrunners bring back the original charm โ the clever wit, the light-hearted tone, and the iconic Rama-Guruwar dynamic โ I fear the show will continue to lose its loyal audience. It's not too late to return to the roots that made Tenali Rama a fan favorite in the first place.
