Dropped into the flat disc world of Odin with nothing, you set forth to defeat 9 gods of old. Set in an Axe Age/Wolf Age time, you must scavenge, hunt, craft and build your way to a homestead.
From there, you set forth to defeat the first god, which begins assaults on your base occasionally.
This game loop repeats for 8 more increasingly difficult gods which end up further and further away. This simple mechanic forces an adventuring style of gameplay, coupled with the minecraft-style crafting, to deliver an outstanding gaming experience.
Still in Alpha as of this review, Valheim will surely go down as one of the greatest games ever made.
