The special effects are life like and excellent. When the Clown (David Howard) kills the Pizzeria owner. The fire in his skull is a cheap shot. The worker at the pizzeria killed by the Clown. First chopping off part of his hand and then stabbing the knife in the pizzeria worker’s skull is life like. When the Clown saws Dawn in half lengthwise using a hacksaw was life like. The Clown Tara was excellent. From the time the Clown kept stabbing Tara in her leg. Then shooting Tara in her head looked life like. Then the Clown finished off Tara by shooting her in her head multiple times. Tara’s sister Victoria. Her face in the end is excellent. After the Clown shoot’s himself in his head. Then comes back to life at the Morgue is typical but excellent. My wife couldn’t watch this movie. Not because of the violence but because of how well the special effects were. I’m definitely going to watch the sequels of this movie. In my opinion. This movie rates up there with the original The Devils Rejects. I view movies like this as what they are. FICTIONAL AND INSANE PEOPLE. Or just another Scary Movie to be shown during October,Halloween Month.

My wife and I went to see the Howling in a movie theater when it was first released. Some of the special effects are excellent being it was 1981 when the Howling was released.
