The reviews wholly blaming the mother scare me so much. This is a movie about a mother--a mother who is deliberately TRYING to understand and emotionally connect with a boy who has no interest. Do you GENUINELY think a few therapy sessions would've stopped a massacre? (as if there are not millions of undiagnosed teenagers RIGHT NOW with no therapy who ARENT serial killers). Kevin is an individual who decided to do what he did. The movie itself is beautiful but slow paced. The kind of movie you can skim and still enjoy. I did not hate this movie but I hate hate hate the "conversation" it created. If I hadn't read reviews before, I might've enjoyed it more.

It's just super telling that all the experts and experienced critics love this movie. Anyone saying there's no plot desire an action packed, dialogue driven, consistently thrilling story about abuse. That's not what this is. Like what you like. Hate what you hate. If you're looking for a film that tells the truth, this is for you.
