I enjoyed watching this film, more for the technical and ethical considerations than anything else. In real life I suspect the public have no idea of the scope of tech that is available to the military these days or in what context it is used. If any drone pilot questioned the orders of his superior he would immediately be removed, and, charged with failure to obey (serious charge). As for all the political/military discussions this is surely fantasy. The military would have risk assessed the situation and location, taken into account the possible collateral damage and have gained all the necessary consents to "strike" before actually going ahead. The final decision would be with the military as the situation arose.
It insults our intelligence to expect us to believe this is based on "reality".
Having said all this, I enjoyed the film as a bit of escapism with some good acting.
