Painful to watch the merciless treatment of slaves and I fully sympathise with Nat Turnerโs motivations but I canโt help but think that the greatest con in the history of humanity has been to convince black Americans that Christianity is their salvation.
Turners religious mania is no different than any other religious maniac and although religion was ultimately his motivation I wish it were otherwise and the justice of his rebellion could have been shown in other terms.
