Marco is one of the most disappointing films Iโve seen in recent times. The makers clearly mistook mindless brutality for intensity. Almost every frame is soaked in blood, and not in a way that adds depth or meaningโit feels like violence for the sake of shock. Scenes involving children, women, and even an unborn baby cross the line from dark cinema into gratuitous sadism.
The story is paper thin and formulaicโa typical revenge drama dressed up with flashy visuals. Characters have no real development, the dialogues are hollow, and the excessive runtime is filled with repetitive, over-stylized killings that quickly become exhausting rather than thrilling.
Instead of tension or emotion, the film delivers nausea and numbness. At one point, I genuinely wanted to look away because the gore was so relentless. By the end, I felt nothing but emptiness and frustration.
Cinema should move peopleโmake them think, feel, or at least entertain. Marco does none of that. It glorifies cruelty while offering no real substance. For me, this was two hours of absolute torture.
