Rise of the Ronin – Worth the Wait! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ I finally got around to playing Rise of the Ronin on my PS5 Pro after sitting on it for over a year. I’ll admit, I was hesitant at launch because of all the mixed reviews. Some folks were really divided on it, and that kind of put me off... but now I’m honestly glad I gave it a shot. The game definitely has its flaws, but once I got into the world and the rhythm of combat, I ended up really enjoying it. The setting is unique, the story is surprisingly solid, and the swordplay felt great—especially once I started mastering the stances and parries. There’s a good mix of historical drama and over-the-top action that just works if you don’t take it too seriously. The graphics are actually really good and this was another point of mixed reviews. Now, about the grind... yeah. I went for the platinum trophy (because why not?), and that part definitely tested my patience. Some of the collectibles and side tasks felt like busy work, but if you’re into trophy hunting, it’s doable—just be prepared to sink in quite a few hours. As a huge fan of the first RoboCop movie and the first two Terminator films, RoboCop: Rogue City on the PS5 Pro felt like it was made just for me. Teyon really nailed the tone, the world, and the atmosphere of the original RoboCop. You can tell they have a lot of respect for the source material, just like they did with their fantastic Terminator: Resistance game, which I also loved. From the gritty streets of Old Detroit to the robotic movement and voice of RoboCop himself (yes, Peter Weller is back!), the whole experience is like stepping into the movie. The action is chunky and satisfying, and playing as RoboCop feels powerful without being over-the-top—it’s that slow, deliberate justice that just hits right. Teyon has clearly carved out a niche for bringing these classic '80s sci-fi legends to life in gaming form, and they’re absolutely crushing it. If you’re a fan like me, this game is a pure nostalgia hit! I loved be able to go to the OCP offices. If you decide to play and you too are a fan like me, take your time in the OCP office and you'll find Easter Eggs and subtle nods to the movie everywhere! 🦊

Whether you're cruising on your bike at night or getting into some cyber-enhanced brawls, the game just feels cool. That said… yeah, it still bugs out sometimes. You might see a character spawn out of nowhere or deal with the occasional crash. It’s not game-breaking anymore, but it’s noticeable. Think of it like a slightly glitchy masterpiece—it’s mostly polished, but with a few stubborn scuffs. But honestly? I’m still having a blast. Pure Nostalgia! I've been a gamer for over 30 years so Streets of Rage was one of my favourite games back in the day. Arcade and then Mega Drive. I've been playing Streets of Rage 4 with my 7 year old twins and they love the beat-em-up concept. This entry into the franchise has added new a 'risk/reward' move for the new characters where you press triangle to do a powerful move that takes a bit of your health away. The catch is, that if you manage to get a few hits in on your enemy, you get the missing health back! It helps to keep things fresh. The graphics are amazing, I really love the look of Axel and Blaze, the 2 new people Cherry and Floyd are cool new additions to the game. Cherry being small and quick and Floyd being powerful and slow. It sometimes feels unfair with regards to being juggled by the enemies. Knocked to the floor - land on grenade - grabbed by enemy - caught in special move by enemy. It's happened to me a few times now and it can be frustrating but stuff like this is part and parcel of the genre. All in all for £17 on the ps store it's worth it. I wouldn't be happy paying anymore. 🦊
