What ever the movie setting was made, the plot and pictures told the unavoidable work of the demon, the presence of evil destroying one family without any help from any good aide. The sense was so tense, more revealing what was beneath the human in facing their suffers of own conflicts, hope to God, and dissapointments. That is human of one whom stay conscious/ fight to the end, conquer or die (father), or one whom consumed by the madness ended on sad places we saw (mother, caleb), or one whom given up to what may, accept it and live with it (thomasin to satan). A tipical material world that shape the human into with the wrap of evil as the steer power. To win or to fall on every each path, is to recognise the sign at first sight and then to decide what we want or capable of, do the math, involve or leave. The head of the family will still be able to save his spouses if he chose to pack things and go find a better way/place once again, his or our decision in life struggles to once again rise and again and again. Or stay with what his or we got and conquer with anythg we may sacrifrice, which was not prevail in this movie. I saw it as interpretation of this very world. Nevertheless its an intelligent movie with a thick satanic air by good cinematography in sad feelings, no need to gruesome, but build sense of curiosity in a horror.
