After the 2023 allegations against the Tuohy family, this movie will never be the same. There always was that "white savior" vibe I've suspected when I saw this as a child, but now those suspicions are justified after hearing that Michael was never adopted and he was tricked into signing a paper that made them his conservators. Absolutely disguising. I was shocked but at the same time felt like I shouldn't have been. Wrong, just so wrong.
