This book is very difficult to read, unless you are from India. Indian terms, names are throughout and hard to remember. It also goes back and forth in time, which I hate. There are many characters who pop in and out, with names I cannot place. Also, as is typical of verghese, it is very sad. And 700 pages long. I bought this book for a 4 day car ride. He is a fantastic writer. Cutting for Stone is one of the best books I have ever read in my life. That is why I bought it. But I just finished it and I am giving it to the library. No one I know would put in the work involved in reading this book
