I love the Terrifier franchise, and Art is one of my favorite characters in any genre. And this movie is solid, campy, over-the-top fun, so I’d love to give it a better rating. But Vicki. Whyyyyy? The little pale girl was okay, because she enhanced Art’s good timey gore. But Vicki just overshadows it. In parts, the movie becomes more about her than anyone else, and unlike Art, she has zero redeeming qualities. She’s not fun, she’s just mean. Other than our annoying hanger-on, I enjoyed this one. For a movie that goes overboard on showing gore, I thought the stuff involving kids that was left to the imagination was an interesting choice. (But make no mistake, I enjoyed the gore as well- especially that shower scene.) Cheers to another successful film, along with many good wishes for the next one (or two?). Hopefully without ol’ faceless Vicki.

If you loved the children’s characters, fear not. You can still see and love this so-bad-it’s-good piece of…art? Trash? All of the above? I had so much fun watching this movie. Pooh turns out to be the quintessential horror villain that you can’t kill or slow down, only infuriate. There’s lots of blood, lots of gore, and lots of laughs. Rhys Frake-Waterfield has definitely sliced out a place for himself in the horror genre, and I can’t wait to see more of his universe-building. Interestingly, he has a real eye for cinematography as well. Some of those shots of the Hundred Acre Wood were stunningly beautiful, so I’m really intrigued to see what happens with him in the future.

I miss going to the movies, so I was really excited to hear about this HBO/Warner deal. I'm extra excited that I didn't pay a stupid amount of money to watch this film that just never managed to develop any of its characters or themes. They came so close, but in the end it's only worth the $5 I spent for my subscription.

This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. I’ve heard a few reviewers say that it was too long, but I completely disagree. Maybe if you go into it expecting only the Manhattan Project, but it’s a biopic. There was a life before, and a life after, and I think the filmmakers did an incredible job putting it all together.
