WATCH IT!! Loved this movie. Didn't even know TM had a movie out. Woke up one night for that bathroom time..couldn't get back to sleep..started working the remote...came across this movie. It start 2 protagonist that I like their acting AND TM name is attached...well lets say my fingers seized on my remote, & I remained awake. A black man showing real LOVE. That's what I'm talking about. This flick was pretty authentic believable of what takes place when trying to enter a relationship/STAY in the relationship when one has kids...teens at that!! It is MOST difficult and challenging. But Diggs character showed grit. His actions, his helping around her house, his contributions matched those 3 words "I love you". The oldest daughter over hears Diggs turn down a very lucrative job offer to "stay" with "HIS FAMILY". I love a good love story. This had me shed tears as did Will Smith son playing the role of falling in love with a woman that is opposite of what his parents desire, still marries her knowing she has cancer...("Life In A Year") although I do think Forever is written a tad bit better. My only negative (if I had to give one) Don't judge yall ...just "MY" opinion is the first/one date night sex thing. In my new walk with Christ, for "ME" IMO now, having done that process SO many times (Im a VERY active healthy 66 yrs old never married/wanna be married)...I need more...FIRST..b4 parting the red sea. That's just ME readers. But this flick I truly enjoyed..written in that raw, keep it real TM style of a mother's tough love, but still needing "To Be Loved" by a REAL MAN. If ever a man showed/demonstrated he loved a woman..Diggs character did. As stated in the beginning of my review WATCH THIS

Totally ENJOYED IT!! Not Oscar worthy but certainly "funny & entertaining" worthy. And in spite of Lohans earlier in her life's pblms, I've always felt she is a darn good actress. It's kinda like watching a who is with whom on a "WHAT" scale. Lazy Sat afternoon (after Tgiving), wanted something "fun" to watch. Chose this flick: Get some coffee, Hot Chocolate, or some other drink, Skinny Pop Popcorn and settled into my chaise lounge. I recommend 👌🏾 it..(remember just for the chuckles) and a plot that has a few twist & turns and this is one I really was thrown off even tho I figured it would be a guy gets gurl ending

I LOVE movies. Period. Was this anything close to a "Bond" James Bond flick?..of course not! Some of the analyzations of reviews here are just waaaaaay over the top...digging too deep. It's like a book, a musical, a play, etc...I liked it...u didn't like it..Dang folk give it a break. How about movie "Dumb & Dumbier"...Somebody..somewhere actually liked it I suppose...lol. For me The Mother was a decent action packed movie full of thrill and intensity of a mother doing whatever she could to save and protect her child. That was my MAIN focus of the plot. Just like any wild female animal would do for their cubs, puppies, chicks, whatever. Folk got killed, had drive thru car wrecks over the Popeyes chicken sandwich when it first was introduced. A SANDWICH!. In my opinion is it as good as CFA..nope...but its a sandwich thats eatable and tastes fairly decent..enough for me to buy-eat it again. Just like this movie. Oscar worthy..nope. But good enough to watch without "digging " all down in its "ingredients"

While I did find this mini series horrific at the same time it was one that kept me gasping and anxious to see what would happen next with Cora. (She HAD to kill Ridgeway-Im glad she did too.. "Yea I killed em" and I hope they burn in hell too: famous line from Sam Jackson "A Time To Kill" , there was no other choice that would keep her from running) I found the film to be too dark on many parts. I could barely see/tell what was going on. I was lost with several twits and turns..was confused with the "jumping ariund" I did find this series intriguing but brutal, and I think the main reason I continued to sit thru each episode is at the end of the day I was rooting and pulling for the underdig..if u will. I wanted Cora Randolph to WIN!! And lastly, I feel it should be some kind of continuation of what happened to Cora as she rode with the man heading west..I felt after all that...I was cut short of.."ok what happens with Cora finally being able to stop running"?. I recommend watching it albeit it's not for the faint at heart, or for those who want to go "kill" some white folk at their job for the abuse rendered to slaves
