All-around entertaining (with some excellent action sequences)
Simply put, War is a "Popcorn Entertainment" film that comes very close to perfection.
When pitting Hrithik versus Tiger in an action movie, the producers were fully aware of what the audience would anticipate, and they simply went along with it.
Hrithik is in top form as usual, practically owning the entire film, with endless swag in whatever he does, whether it be the rapid action scenes, the cool breezy dancing, or the ultra-slow-motionย moments where he emanates charm like no one else in the business, just about ideal for this character!
Tiger compliments him well, but there is still a lot of need for improvement in terms of his performance.
He was terrific, however, in the combat scenes and, obviously, the upbeat dancing.
Although the pace of the first half of the film was a little slow, the direction was decent.
I thought some of the camera angles were very creative, and I appreciated how many various things were tried.
The movie was held together by the director well enough to somehow grab your attention while yet being interesting.
The action directors, who in this film are actually four, are truly deserving of praise. There were some spectacular shots and heart-pounding action that was almost up to Hollywood standards! I had a great time watching them, and I genuinely appreciate them.
I was proud to witness such fast-paced, suspenseful scenes in a Bollywood film, especially since they weren't outrageous or unreal.
The thrilling pursuit sequences, battles, and other action involving helicopters, bikes, vehicles, and who knows what else were expertly executed! The entire staff did an excellent job! ๐๐๐
Vaani Kapoor looked lovely; I wish she had more screen time and not a prolonged cameo sort of role. The setting was mesmerising, the two songs were excellent (especially Ghungroo), and there were two songs that were extremely engaging.
However, the story isn't too good (which was kind of expected), but it still has some plot twists and keeps you hooked the entire time. To be honest, it was satisfying enough, and I was happy with the script. Overall, the movie is very enjoyable, and the colourful, vibrant landscapes add to the beauty.
Overall, seeing this movie with family or friends is enjoyable. A Complete Bollywood Package, it's entertaining, has some particularly heart-pounding action and chase scenes (by Bollywood standards), Hrithik's grace and charisma, Tiger's jumps and super kicks, a somewhat intriguing plot with some not-so-great yet unexpected twists, nice music, and really good background scores!
This film is definitely for you if you're searching for pure fun!
