As an inmate of the federal correctional institution for 9 years I can see right through this book. This is another left wing bunch of bs. It doesn't say anything about what put these people ON rikers Island. It leads you to believe that all of these people are victims and it doesn't say anything about the real victims of their crimes. Don't believe anything that you hear in this book is a true encounter of what is actually going on inside of prison. Yes prison is a bad place but no one goes to prison for singing too loud in Sunday School. I went to prison for selling drugs and most of these people went to prison for at least that much or worse. Murder ,rape, and any other inhuman things that you might think of IS what these people at rikers have done. Like I said I have been in federal prison and I know who is in there and I thank God that there are prisons for these people. I serve my time and I changed my life or should I say God changed my life and I have been out and clean now for 10 years. I get so sick of hearing criminals whine about how they are treated once they treat people terrible and wind up in prison themselves. So sick of left-wing media. As a matter of fact when I went to prison I was a Democrat and after hearing all of these sob stories from criminals for 9 years when I came out I was no longer a Democrat but supported law-abiding and law enforcing Republican party.
