The way the various characters have been introduced, their daily life described, and the author's take on the events- making it more of a practical story based on real life events. The author has even made sure to keep the little details alive. An amazing read.

Not read but heard a lot about the book, I was quite excited to watch this much awaited Mira Nair adaptation of one of the books by Vikram Seth. Four episodes passed and I was still puzzled on what the series actually wanted to say as a concept.
Apart from the soulful background score, richly depicted British-India of the time and the quite Mira Nair-ish starcast, this very predictably twisted series comes out as a really bland and basic one.
