Donโt believe the negative reviews, chances are you might enjoy it, I certainly did.
*Also itโs not a musical!
I believe all the negative review bombing are from people who simply donโt understand the film. And were expecting some high crime/killing action Bonny & Clyde type of film but thatโs foolish.
When you look back at the first film, The โactionโ and killing isnโt until the roughly final 45mins of the movie, it was a slow build. Because it invests in representing mental health and exploring Jokers psyche.
In the sequel heโs in Arkham, and they dive into his psyche once again, his fantasies in interesting ways. The pulling out of reality into song isnโt a leap by any means, Joker is mental, it makes sense not making sense.
The ending was interesting, he denounces himself as the Joker, heโs just Arthur. I like that Joker isnโt one person, itโs an idea, & you never know.
Itโs not going to be in the Oscar conversation, but that doesnโt mean itโs bad. The cinematography is stellar once again & the acting is great. Glad I saw it.
