I couldn’t put it down. Both beautifully and phenomenally written. Murakami settles you in with ease, then takes you on a whirlwind of psychological, mouth watering narrative with pure dark twists that you never thought possible, while constantly engaging you in scenes that paint pictures and splatter hidden anomalies over each page like a master craftsman carving calligraphy, sometimes in a controlled zen manner, sometimes in an all out kamikaze assault.
