Tazmon Sims (Taz)

I don't remember how I found the show, just remember that I did and it started off as a more malcolm in the middle take on suburban life in Canada. Then it had tragedy befall it and the cast and crew came together and in my opinion built something wonderful with this show. They were a family and a show that made mistakes and made the best of those mistakes because the people involved were capable of loving the show they were making and it showed. Big fan.....big big fan of this show and it's quirky opening theme song, because who could ever hate Winnipeg?

This Show, not everything is for everyone, but this definitely one of those shows, that when you finally do watch it, you wonder why it took you all this time to finally watch it. Everything about this show is first rate...

There is no way, I should have enjoyed this as much as I did, at a slower pace (different than a "slow" pace) it managed to lay out its story quite nicely. The show plays nicely with the standard tropes and builds upon its theme. I went in and allowed the story and characters to take me on a journey and they did not disappoint a lot of talent in this ensemble, This was time well spent.

I will start with this, not everything is for everyone, we are all welcomed to our opinion and everything is valid from that perspective. With this film you are going to have to reach to find something to complain about. I have seen it 3 times in theater to make sure, that it was not the "Marvel Effect". This was brilliant!!!! I will not go into spoilers, but this was Thanos level balanced.

Is this perfect? That is up to each viewer to decide, but as far as setting up "possibilities" and giving you a solid grounding in why you should care about these characters... that it nailed. The loss of Cap, resonated... I will give a contrast, I watched something earlier that was 5 years in the making and lasted 4 hours and character was done much cleaner and kept more consistent in this (Sam's need to come to the rescue, Bucky's hesitancy to open up). It showed, why Falcon was an Avenger outside of being Captain America's buddy and man am I rooting for Sgt Barnes. I liked the secondary characters, like the military guy who helps Sam, the angry old dude, yelling at people over trash, the guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, the waitress/bartender, the Sister, the guy who just needed $50 more bucks til tuesday. I like how they used Batroc I see this as a buddy cop film, but with Riggs (Lethal Weapon) and Mike Lowry (Bad Boys) as the team up. I am all in... "On your left"

This is a journey and unlike what most of us are used to today, this is not a rushed journey. I love how this show allows the characters room to grow and breath, there are no quick solutions. There are no moments of now we get the hero, the hero journey is earned on all sides. I love how it does not take the tact of Religion bad or Science bad, but that the people involved can lose their way and that is what becomes bad I love how the female characters have actual conversations about what is going on around them. I love how they support and strengthen one another, even at their worst. Not everything is for everyone but what this reminded me of was "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "Veronica Mars", if the character of "Faith" played by Eliza Dushku had been in the lead role. It also holds up better during re-watch I loved it and cannot wait for Season 2

I was pleasantly surprised. I watched a different movie and was left unsatisfied in my viewing of it. On a whim, I checked this film out and was pleasantly surprised. Betty Gilpin, brings it and Hillary Swank, let's it all hang loose. I went in, with the hopes of being able to trash this B-level film and found myself, not only happy with this choice, but hoping, that there will be more. For me, while this other film I watched is getting all the headlines, this is the little film, that it wished that could have been. This was a thrill!!!

I raged quit this show on the final episode of Season 1, after showing how clever this character was, they decided to have her bypass all the things that helped her survive this machine to go put her hand on the cage? Someone who had been clever and decisive the entire run of the show, now decides to be sentimental? This was forced so they could get to a forced poignant moment. I no longer care what happens to any of these characters or this plot, it just shows the typical lazy HBO writing, that plagues each of their shows and means that like all the other shows, the effort to put in to watch these shows is not going to pay off. Great acting by the cast, I was enthralled up until that point, this is on me, I will never watch another second of this show.
