As a lifelong fan way back from the original (1954 film), I thought the movie was very faithful to the franchise.The movie in my mind stayed true to Godzilla, I realize the need to update it modern standards (eco-terrorist),so the plot is not too put-offish. I enjoyed the characters (monsters Rodan,Mothra, and Giderah). The use of the Godzilla and Mothra theme was enjoyable. I even liked the use of the oxygen destroyer in the plot.The revival of Godzilla was a little much, because you knew he couldn't stay dead. But, all in all, a very good popcorn movie. I think sometimes we try to read too much into movies.Just sit back and enjoy and don't be too critical!
