I wish I could give this movie 0 stars. I don’t get why people like it so much. First of all, Earwig has no character development. She stays the same annoying brat as always. And her voice still sounds like it’s coming out of a kazoo. Only worse. Also, this movie does not have any “righting wrongs”. All that changes about Earwig is the fact that now she knows she has a punk rock mom. What’s that good for? Bragging rights? Next, the cgi is trash. Do I even need to talk about Earwig’s eyebrows. This movie has no plot, and Earwig is a snobby annoying nosy “witch” who can’t do magic. How did she rule the orphanage?!? This make no sense. I do not recommend this movie to people who are just starting Ghibli. Watch Ponyo first.
