Never watched the original anime series before, so I’m coming into this show with fresh eyes and no silly ideas as to what the show *should* be. As a fan of Firefly, I am absolutely delighted to see another space spaghetti western with off-beat and irreverent humor. John Cho and Mustafa Shakir are a fantastic pairing and are definitely breathing some fresh life into a worn out Netflix playlist. For you purists who absolutely hate this show because it isn’t a scene by scene recreation of your beloved anime show, keep trashing this because I’m sure you’d be happier with the 15 takes of baking, makeup or glassblowing competitions instead…
