This drama was so important, because it show's what really went on, & is still going on, & the failings of the GMP. It show's the dedication of Sara Rowbotham & Maggie Oliver to expose what was happening to those poor children by doing research, & gathering a huge amount of evidence. Their determination & compassion, & dedication to help these young girls & many others (all children), got through the red tape of the GMP & Prosecution Service, to get a conviction of the perpretrators that abused & raped these children. Sara Rowbotham was treated appallingly after the case, WHY? For doing more than her job description? For taking the time to research & document what was going on? For being a genuinely decent & caring lady? My heart goes out to her, it really does. Maggie Oliver gave up her career to be able to continue her work in exposing these grooming gang's & to help protect more girls. These two dedicated & professional, & caring ladies have been failed by the people that should have stood up to their responsibilities & backed them?!! The 3 young actresses, Maxine Peake & Lesley Sharpe gave outstanding performances. They were absolutely amazing, & have honed their acting craft to perfection. We should never forget what happened in Rochdale, & how brave those girls were to give evidence after suffering such trauma? I hope they are living their lives in peace, & are having a happier life now?
