I first got my eyes on this collection of stories in 1976, I am an admirer of Conrad and Herman M., but it was Mr. Valgardson who shocked my sensibilities about what a story could do to your mind.
Make no mistake: This work evokes the horror, and insidious cruelty that a Hitchcock, or perhaps an Edgar Allen Poe Could only strive for. Valgardson is profoundly talented, I cannot recommend Bloodflowers more highly: It's a gem, a prize.
