Whilst grieving myself for the recent loss of my wife, I read this book during Christmas and New Year 2022/3. An outstanding piece of literature by the Author that has fed and strengthened me. The pages of this book reflected the 'Mann' greater family over seven decades... Diverse in their Unity ... United in their Diversity. Ever thus ... Powerful ...Thank you Colm.

Lightweight read, sorry. Too quick an ending which left me thinking had I wasted my time ...?

I really enjoyed this book ... the humour was dry and my style of delivery ... One of the countries oddities ...

An outstanding book of our countries history at a particular moment in time. I read the whole book in 3 days from cover to cover ... the pages filled in many gaps of missing knowledge and information which gave me further insights into the bigger picture of these well to do characters. I recommend to all bibliophiles and interested parties to give this book a go ...

Wow! A really good read! 3 days ad hoc from start to finish ... I was gripped with this feasable story ... the characters are plausible and the effort that has gone into the background of the period show the author's dedication to historical facts ... I wish I had read the first book in these character books before this one ... I shall treat myself immediately ... and prequel! Enjoy!

I treated myself to this book thinking it was about C of E Evensong ... the Service held late afternoon or early evening - I have been to more than a thousand services ... Expectations were high ... The book was very very interesting to me and not what I expected ... I will not spoil it for the next reader ... needless to say ... a well researched book by Mr Morris... it took me 3 days to read cover to cover ...it held my attention. I learnt enough to justify the cost ... Now then ...to keep and re-read some date in the future? ... or to pass it on now? ... Hmmmmm ... A typical Anglican dilemma ... the hardest thing in life is choice, the second hardest thing in life is the right choice ... I might form a Church/Diocesan Committee to decide! Hey ho ... its for you Reader ... to make the decision... good reading!

What a beautiful book to read ... one of those that you will go back to time and time again ... reflective, real, thought provoking, humbling ... every chapter is a gem when you read along the lines and imagine ... I have not read or come across this author before ... which one will I have next? Hmmmm ... I'll let you know!

This book is outstanding. I have read many books on this subject and this concise book is so informative and overflowing with deep research. I lapped it up .... so full of information that I was living there during the events it seemed. Full credit to the Author Mr Smith ... a wonderful piece of writing! Thank you ...

This little gem of a book became a surprise as I read along ... at first I thought what have a bought here? It grows on you and you don't want it to end ... there is so much information in this little book of wisdom and wow ... I congratulate the author on research and putting it over for all, even me with no real prior knowledge on the subject to understand ... a re-read for Autumn or Winter every year for me ... pocket sized with a punch! ... thank you!
