Good premise, poor production.
Very slow moving, almost painfully slow, and so poorly lit... All that acting and we can't even see it. Not changing settings on the screen to accommodate some poseur producer's hang up on dark. Light your sets so the audience can see the story unfold. Oh wait, you forgot that part too. Maybe couldn't find the script in the dark...
Really wanted to like this series but it's like work trying to watch. The miniscule effort put forth in building characters is inevitably followed by character assassination. The intriguing storylines are only approached tangently with lackluster effort and a pedestrian feel. Rest assured, what hooked you in the trailer or the description is not what you're going to get in the show. At least there's many chances to miss key pieces of dialogue that'll keep you wondering what the heck's going on until you realize that you just don't care.
The post-apocalyptic, sci-fi crowd is still going to watch this show (guilty as charged) but it won't be easy. I fully expect having to turn it off several times during season 3 and 4 to escape the tedious plodding nature of the show.
- Rumors are that the lighting is going to be addressed in the next two seasons.
