This show gave me a nightmare because of its truth. Of course this family was haunted. And, hundreds of years of systemic abuse wrapped up in an evil-driven ghost story? The metaphor is perfect. As for the setting? Well, the history is impossible to ignore. Today, we are only slightly better than the 1950s, but maybe this show will help white America confront its horrible treatment of blacks in the past and still today. The acting is superb. This show and all the actors deserve awards. Many awards. I've never seen anything like it.
