The murder and who did it was the only interesting thing about this movie but even that fell apart eventually. I thought the acting enhanced the soap opera syrupy-ness. Stupid close ups hoped for drama but early on I didn’t care about any of these people whose decadence wasn’t even interesting. Bad acting meets bad writing.
The only people I liked were Dakota Fanning and Tim Bagley—and Nicole Kidman didn’t make me cringe—but to be fair it was hard to tell how much the bad writing hurt the acting. Most young actors had no timing and no authenticity and no presence.
