I don’t get why this movie is getting good reviews. Just to preface this I love Zombie flicks, Planet Terror, Shaun of the dead, overlord, 28 days later are some of my favorites. This movie is okay at best. Opening scene was honestly great, I started to get my hopes up. Then came the typical Snyder focus in on one persons face in and out dozens of times. Snyder has become a one trick pony. If I didn’t know it was a Snyder movie going in within the first 10 minutes of the movie you could pinpoint it with the same lens he shot for man of steel and the justice league. While the violence has some great moments, honestly original and savage. Everything else about the movie is lacking. Spoilers ahead Too many characters. Bad performances across the board. Batista was pretty good as Scott, but maybe three love interests in one movie is too much. Kate was awful. Lily was worse. The best woman in the movie has an early exit. The German guy is overdone, Van has some good moments but his peak is in the opening scene. Guz was meh at best. Snyder honestly should’ve just cut this movie in two. The opening scene should have been AOTD 1, the return to Vegas, AOTD 2. There’s just nothing to this movie. It’s more than two hours long and accomplished nothing. It’s just plain bad, I don’t know if Snyder was aiming for a cult classic, but it’s got nothing redeeming about it. If you repeatedly watch fast and furious movies you’ll probably love this movie. If you have some brain cells, you probably won’t.

The first 30 hours of play are great. Then everything gets really boring really fast. Clunky mechanics for fighting and climbing. Open world with nothing in between. Storyline fees extremely repetitive. Gear is ok, but the best weapons in the game aren’t unlocked until you complete the entire game. Mjolnir, Odins spear, arc bowl the only one you don’t have to do everything for is Excalibur, which you need to complete 95% to get to. Leveling is terrible, early you look to get levels fast to even combat, but by the time you’re at level 300 you’ll be fighting against recommended 180lvl. The scenery is beautiful and the graphics are amazing. The lore is intriguing with little Easter eggs like Robin Hood and the Asgard story arks, but not great enough to make up for everything else the game is lacking. Especially the ending. Worst end of a video game I have ever played. Overall I’d rank in the bottom 3 of the AC Games. Black flag is still the best AC to date, then Odyssey. 3/10
