Great storyline. I saw a lot of people complain about Mark Ruffalo using a French accent that changes from time to time and maybe might not sound exactly French. I think he’s a great actor and one should not be judged by how accurate and accent is because the acting in the role is very poignant and he’s very believable. as an artist myself, I hate the naysayers that have to find something wrong with everything.
The guy had an acoustic neuroma that damaged his hearing. He had to learn how to speak, and part of his face was paralyzed. It took more than a year of physical therapy, so I think everyone should cut the guy some slack. He’s still a great actor. I always get amazed by the general public that just have to criticize any type of artist if they aren’t what they consider 💯 all the time.
I thought the locations and the set design of the room that Marie was in was extremely believable and so well done. The actress that plays Marie was outstanding and the whole cast did a wonderful job keeping the flow of the dialogue. I have not seen the end yet, and I have not read the book, which I heard was great.
I wish this was a little bit of a longest story. The interaction of father and daughter was so pointed especially when Marie was a little girl. It brought a few tears to my eyes to see the interplay between Mark and that child actress that played Marie. I would love to see more films like this and the musical score reminded me of watching the old movies from the 40s. Beautiful musical Compositions throughout.
