Don't listen to the critics. This movie is a masterpiece if you actually paid attention to the first movie. The musical aspect genuinely makes sense for Joker's character. Most of the hate comes from people that think Joker is a strategic, smart, or serious character, he has always been a chaotic, mentally ill, and impulsive person, which was depicted well in the movie.
