Beautifully written and deftly plotted. It’s a very poignant reminder of the damage inflicted by combat and loss, on soldiers and civilians alike. It avoids sentimentality and old cliches about WW1, and covers the post traumatic effect of locating ‘lost’ soldiers, killed and missing. Highly recommended.
