'Barbie' is an endlessly entertaining film filled with jokes designed to entertain all ages, whilst also balancing a serious message that is growing more and more necessary in the world of today. 'Barbie' introduces us to a matriarchal land where women are in power, whilst the Kens are just there. Whilst those without media literacy skills may see this as 'anti-men', this is not an endorsement of having one sex rule over everyone, but actually a clever turning of the tables to demonstrate how silly it is that one group of people has the majority of the power (imagine that, right). 'Barbie' uses outstanding performances from its cast to convey the message that no one should base their worth of the opinions of others and, to paraphrase, that being human is not something others give to you or see you as, but something you discover about yourself.
