Really enjoyed Thunderbolts. I was dubious to begin with, thinking how secondary characters effectively were going to fill the promise of a marvel film without the main characters like captain America, iron man, Thor or black panther. But was I wrong to question it. The film felt like a marvel version of watchmen, with antiheroes actually being given a story which fulfils promise of these characters that their initial appearances never quite delivered (with the exception of Bucky).
I found the film to be a good pace, humorous but dark in the right way at times and more focussed on being โfunโ and โentertainingโ in comparison to some of Marvels more recent films, such as the latest captain America film which were more story driven for what seems a โbiggerโ event moving forward after that film, than the story playing out on the screen.
I thought Bob was a fantastic character, Taskmaster was a surprise (no spoilers donโt worry) and Red Guardian provided warmth and heart felt moments with the perfect amount of comic relief just when it was required.
