The original game was good. This is just microwaved dog shit. It was free and I still regret playing it.

People are stuck on blaming the actor(s) for what is clearly just terrible directing. Outside of 1 or 2 episodes, the 2nd season was just a complete downhill from the 1st. Some genuinely powerful moments, but they’re so greatly overshadowed by bad pacing, clunky story-telling, an over-abundance of dialogue, wildly awkward and out-of-place shifts in tone between scenes, even character assassination. Despite what many others have said about Bella, I feel like she shone when it mattered the most. But the direction she was given must have absolutely awful, but a lot of what I mentioned above directly affected her character. She’s a good actress, but she can only do so much when the person calling the shots clearly does not understand or appreciate the source material.

A beautiful, visceral story, unveiled with a slow ease that captivated from the outset.

Maybe corny is the right word? Cliche? It seems more concerned with checking off a list of tropes for the genre, rather than creating something unique or even vaguely substantial. Think knock-off James Bond, but with a higher production value.
