Let me start out by saying I hardly laughed during this movie. But I will follow up by saying I did enjoy parts of it. Glen Powell saved this movie. He has a very diverse acting style which is finally showcased in this role.
But anymore nowadays scripts are so incredibly lazy and lacking follow through.
I don't understand why Glens character, Gary, would suddenly turn dangerous by the end and turn a BLIND EYE to Madison's character. She desperately needed to go to jail by the very end of the film. Gary just supported her FOR WHAT? Because she's gorgeous? What are we teaching our children? To stand by someone no matter what even if they're criminals?
The main parts that I actually enjoyed were Glen Powell's diverse acting style and his chemistry with Adria. I also enjoyed the cast besides the actual fake hit man, Jasper. He really wasn't all that scary to me. His job is supposed to convince criminals he's an hit man so they can get caught and if you told me he was a hit man, I wouldn't believe you. They tried to portray him as a conniving, racist scoundrel when really he seemed very plain and normal. Also, I don't believe the rotten tomatoes score unless it was based solely on Glen Powell's performance. Try again. 3 stars.โญ๏ธ โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ
