Have found this to be an exceptional watch, using the original Asimov books as a starting point but extending and elaborating as a filmed version must. The plot is intricate and it takes some work to keep up with the character and plot shifts (there are multiple converging story-lines to follow). The visuals are absolutely spell-binding and a credit to the special effects team. Many of them rival sci-fi block buster visuals. The casting is superb, particularly Lee Pace as multiple versions of the implacable Emperor, with some of the intimidating chilly stillness and imperiousness he brought to the elven King Thranduil in The Hobbit. Jared Harris as the catalyst who sets the whole cosmic drama into motion is also excellent with just the right mix of ego and self-sacrifice to make the character plausible. Honestly this is one of the best things I’ve ever watched on a streaming service. It’s a show that doesn’t patronise its audience. It’s dense and challenging, the way I think good story-telling should be. I highly recommend.👌👍🏻🙌
