Google should remove all the one-star reviews that detest the LGBTQ theme (or 'woke agenda') of the game. These elements did not in any way affect the game's storytelling and people who left those reviews should really examine their own bigotry.
This game is the pinnacle of how a storytelling game should be. It does not go through the conventional trope of your average video game character arc. instead, it asks the player an impactful question - do you solve violence with more violence?
Among many modern-day shooter/survivor titles, violence has become normalized, it became the secret ingredient to spike players' adrenaline - to keep them engaged as the theme of the gameplay. at first glance, the last of us part 2 is no different, Elle violently murders everyone in her path in the name of revenge. But then as you delve deeper and deeper into the story and gameplay, you start to question yourself, Is all the violence truly necessary? Didn't this much violence cause what made Elle be on her revenge path in the first place?
No other games had made me reflect this much about violence and humanity as much as this video game. This game truly left an impact on me to understand the theme of violence in a video game and how it affects the characters within that theme.
10/10 modern masterpiece.
