A triumph, no doubt but following in the wake of the Dune Part 1 was going to be hard. The first of these new Dune movies had a fantastic pacing; balancing foreboding and events perfectly. I can’t help but feel like the events that occur in Dune Part 2 have enough time spent on them in comparison to their build up here with a long middle section followed by an abrupt ending. Beautiful to watch and still a fantastic film but not reaching the heights setup from the first film.
