This movie had me laughing, big belly laughing, then it had me crying (sweet sweet Pixar tears) and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. As fantastical, whimsical, and hilarious as this story was— it was perhaps the most honest storytelling I’ve seen come out of Pixar or Disney. This was a love letter to all the weird girls growing up, trying to make their parents proud and struggling to be themselves. I want to thank the whole crew for sharing this story for the whole world. It helped me feel less alone in my past experiences, I hope it helps some girls going through it now too.
