As an evangelical Christian, in Australia I have seen also the uncomfortable statement of wanting to take over the world in the name of God. It never sat well with me, also the evangelical leaders seemed very agresive and unmercifully for thier opponents. Not sure there representing God, however isues like abortion and standing up for those who don't have a voice I do believe in. I don't believe Christians have to rule the world or countries to make difference.
