Dark's first season was criminally under-rated, mostly because it's getting more and more tiring to choose something good from Netflix's vast collection of sub-par shows. But as it garnered more and more views and word-of-mouth towards the release of second season, this show made people realize what a gem it was. The cinematography, the classic German-show grey backdrop, a beautiful score and a gripping storyline, this show had it all.
It was sad that some people started comparing it with Stranger Things. It was way more "dark" and technical. The episodes made you pause the video and think about what you saw. How often do you do that apart from a good Nolan ?
Season 2 followed with an even more complex storyline which would later give this show some of the weirdest scenes to be remembered by.
The curse of the third, well, how should I put it, couldn't be completely avoided by this entertainment giant.
Just like the much appreciated Westworld, this show somehow failed to realize adding more and more technical stuff would just sacrifice the human touch in it. The makers made this show mechanical that at some point, you would realize, just like a nice old riddle, you would just like to know the end. The third season is tiring but if you can go on with your forward button on your side, you will love the closure.
Also, just like Game of Thrones couldn't live up to it's own hype, this show too suffered a similar fate, but in retrospect, you'll love that you watched both of these shows and what they gave to the TV industry, years later.
