Yikes. I forced myself to finish this book so you don’t have to. Put it back, take it off your reading list, just don’t even open it. The storyline is *just* interesting enough, but the writing style is horrendous. I was constantly confused on who was speaking, whether they were having a real conversation or just imagining it. I lost count of the number of times the word “pretentious” came to mind to describe this book. None of the characters are really all that likable and the “witty” dialogue between every single character is forced and annoying. And then the author decided to slap us in the face with some woke nonsense in the end. Do yourself a huge favor and skip this one. I wish I had.

I have been struggling to finish this one. One of my friends recommended it as “one of the best books she’s ever read”, so it’s been on my list for a while. That said, I just cannot see why this has such rave reviews. It is so INCREDIBLY slow and boring. I made it a little over halfway and I just can’t bring myself to finish it. They tell stories within the story and there are so many different characters and random storylines to keep track of. All the women are so sexualized it’s honestly annoying. I really gave it a shot but this is a big nope for me.
