I was so confused by Julianne Moore's acting. She has been great in other movies but like this just didn't suit her. It was a lot of over acting on her part. Her wardrobe was strange. Felecia says she was well respected but she's extremely off. I don't see that being the case. I think she missed the mark and probably because she had a hard time relating to the character Brenda herself. In addition, there were a lot of 2 dimensional characters. I also found it difficult to empathize with any of them. I wasn't emotionally invested in any of the characters. The dialogue was also a bit strange. Just certain reactions to certain situations didn't seem appropriate or realistic. I see the potential but the execution was poor. Samuel Jackson did a good job considering what he had to work with...oh and Edie did good with her role considering it wasn't a very significant one. The message just didn't get across.
