Unbelievable that Hardy would choose to do Venom, let alone a sequel, when Taboo was left in limbo. As I understand it, or read somewhere, there was a kind of unspoken deal for doing Locke before going back to Taboo. Now all this time has passed and we have two of Hardyโs worst films in Venom and its sequel, I know Hardy doesnโt give a damn but what makes a great actor a truly iconic actor is role selection. At least thatโs how Iโve always seen it. Delivering stellar performance in flops seems such a waste. Yes, Iโm clearly a fan of Taboo, and itโs hiatus - or more accurately, itโs neglect - is the impetus for reviewing Venom, butf donโt think for a moment that fact has anything to do with what a horrible movie Venom was. The sequel was even worse, if thatโs possible. At this point and with the length of this review, Iโll not go into the myriad reasons why I hold my opinions on the Venom films. I will just end by restating that as big a fan of Tom Hardy I am, his choice in films/roles will be what defines him in the end and itโs not looking good for my man.
